30 Days of Grilling Day #24: Grilled Mango

Mango is an amazing fruit, sweet and firm with great texture, making it perfect for the grill.  Last week, Joe came home with one from the grocery store and the idea to out it on the grill and and idea was born. 

Mango takes no work to grill.  Simply peel, grill and eat.  The peel comes off easily with a vegetable peeler.  Cut the flesh into larger chunks from around the fiberous pit, and place on a medium heat grill for 1 minute per side or until lightly charred.  Remove to a plate and eat.  The flesh would be perfect alone, or try used in a few of these ways:

– Top with vanilla ice cream and chopped pistachios

– Top with vanilla yogurt (try Greek yogurt) and drizzle with honey

– Eat as is!

– Topped with chocolate chips and marshmellows while still warm from grill

– Diced and spooned over pound cake or Angelfood cake with whipped cream
